Reading through the news reporting on the indictment of various participants in the January
6 Capitol riot and the indictments themselves I am struck by what a load of nonsense the “insurrection” storyline is and what a politically motivated selective prosecution to which most of the rioters are being subjected.
Let’s stipulate right up front that anyone who broke down doors, broke windows, assaulted law enforcement (or anyone else), stole property or entered a non-public part of the Capitol should be prosecuted for those crimes – the same as if they had committed them in Portland, Oregon, Seattle, Washington or anywhere else.
The problem is the indictments and prosecutions have now moved beyond actual crimes into specious politically charged non-crimes, such as “incitement” and the Oath Keepers “plan” for the “insurrection.”
As the Editors of the Washington Examiner wrote:
So, the Oath Keepers would take the Capitol basically unarmed. Indeed, the indictment states that on Jan. 6 the group "prepared themselves for battle before heading to the Capitol by equipping themselves with communication devices and donning reinforced vests, helmets, and goggles." It does not allege that they took weapons to the Capitol and certainly not guns. In another part of the indictment describing the defendants' methods, prosecutors said they brought to the Capitol "paramilitary gear and supplies — including camouflaged combat uniforms, tactical vests with plates, helmets, eye protection, and radio equipment." Again, no mention of weapons. The Oath Keepers' idea, apparently, was that if there was trouble, they would be backed up by the quick reaction force.
But it is unclear what that force would be. In the government's memo seeking to jail [Jessica] Watkins, prosecutors wrote that on Dec. 30, Watkins messaged Thomas Caldwell, another defendant, about the plan. Caldwell mentioned "a quick reaction force bringing the tools if something goes to hell. That way the boys don't have to try to schlep weps on the bus." In another exchange, Watkins said, "If it gets bad, they QRF to us with weapons for us." If there was no problem, "we can have mace, tasers, or night sticks. QRF staged, armed, with our weapons outside the city."
But who was going to be in the force? There was vague talk of buses full of Oath Keepers arriving outside Washington to back up the small group at the Capitol. But nothing was specific. At one point, Caldwell mentioned a person, not charged and referred to as "Person Three" in the indictment, who was trying to book a room at the Comfort Inn in Ballston, Virginia, right across the Potomac from the District of Columbia. Caldwell wrote that Person Three chose the hotel, with its easy access to town, "because he feels 1) he's too broken down to be on the ground all day and 2) he is committed to being the quick reaction force and bringing the tools if something goes to hell.
That was the QRF? A guy who wasn't up to spending all day in Washington, so he was going to hang around the Comfort Inn in Ballston unless he was needed to overthrow the U.S. government?
What’s clear from the indictment, and the day-of video and reporting, is that this bunch couldn’t organize a Corporal’s Guard, let alone an insurrection against the government of the United States.
But let’s engage in a brief thought experiment and pretend that Caldwell, Watkins, et al actually were a capable, but unarmed, force – what were they committed to doing?
One fair reading of their motives is they were defending the Constitution against an unconstitutional takeover of the government – which would be a constitutionalist counter-revolution, the exact opposite of an insurrection.
Which leads us to the political motivation of these prosecutions.
CHQ and others, most notably journalist Andy Ngo, have documented at book-length the revolutionary aspirations, organization and violent operations of ANTIFA and BLM. Their plans and aspirations are regularly found on social media or the open internet. Project Veritas even did an undercover operation exposing Rose City ANTIFA and its violent insurrectionist operations.
As independent journalist Andy Ngo (one of the real experts on Antifa) explained in an article for The American Spectator:
Antifa, the extreme anarchist-communist movement, has rioting down to an art. The first broken window is the blood in the water for looters to move in. When the looting is done, those carrying flammable chemicals start fires to finish the job. Footage recorded in Minneapolis and other cities show militants dressed in black bloc— the antifa uniform — wielding weapons like hammers or sticks to smash windows. You see their graffiti daubed on smashed up buildings: FTP means ‘Fuck the Police’; ACAB stands for ‘All Cops Are Bastards’; 1312 is the numerical code for ACAB.
Last night, rioters reached the gates of the White House, possibly the most secure location on Earth. There, they chipped away at the barriers piece-by-piece while law enforcement struggled to respond. One Secret Service officer reportedly had a brick thrown at his head. Footage recorded at the scene showed him blood-soaked. Police were eventually able to repel masked rioters by using pepper spray and tear gas. That worked, for now.
The militants uprising across the country want a revolution and they don’t care who or what has to be destroyed in the process. If their comrades die, they are elevated as martyrs in propaganda. Death is celebrated.
At its core, BLM is a revolutionary Marxist ideology. Alicia Garza, Opal Tometi and Patrisse Cullors, BLM’s founders, are self-identified Marxists who make no secret of their worship of communist terrorists and fugitives, like Assata Shakur. They want the abolishment of law enforcement and capitalism. They want regime change and the end of the rule of law. Antifa has partnered with Black Lives Matter, for now, to help accelerate the breakdown of society.
While the deluded patriots of the Oath Keepers are facing years in prison, where are the indictments of ANTIFA and BLM leaders and funders for “incitement” for the 4+ years of insurrection, rioting and violent attacks on federal facilities in Portland, Seattle and elsewhere, that have injured more law enforcement officers and done more damage than was done to the U.S. Capitol?
The answer is there aren’t any, and there aren’t going to be any, because ANTIFA and BLM are the shock troops of the Leftist revolution to remake America, sponsored, supported and protected by the Democratic Party and their Deep State allies in the government.
